If you helped beta test the v1.0 release of Pingle, you can now download the second v1.1 beta release of Pingle, available here: Pingle-1.1beta2.zip if you’re on Windows, and Pingle-1.1beta2.dmg for Mac users.

This release differs from the previous beta primarily in solving some iPhone OS 3.0 related UI issues.

While we wait for the wheels of the App Store to grind exceedingly fine, here’s a #protip: you can start a new post inside Pingle containing the URL of the page you’re reading in MobileSafari with a convenient bookmarklet.

Version 1.03 of Pingle is now available for beta testers. If you’ve sent me your UDID, you’re a beta tester.

The big changes are that Pingle will no longer crash or hang if Ping.FM’s icon hosting is down (like it is at this moment), and that the configured location privacy “fuzz” factor will be applied in all cases. If neither of these issues is affecting you, you may consider this a low priority upgrade.
