Version 1.04 - February 3, 2009

  • Handle offline state with friendlier error messages. Also use cached service data if available.
  • UI tweaks
    • Sort services in method selector.
    • Removed white border from service icons.
    • Allow more than 140 characters to be entered, but show a negative, red character count.
  • Added a toolbar to the embedded browser used.  Allows opening of links in Safari or sending via mail.
  • Much better blog-type trigger support.
    • Allow more than 140 characters when in blog mode
    • Allow use of the return key when editing blog posts.  (Click the “Pingle” title bar to hide the keyboard)
    • Use first line of a multi-line post body as the title
  • Photo resizing and compression is now performed synchronously for reasons of stability.
  • New preference item: “Save Photos to Album”.  If you take a photo with the camera inside Pingle,it will be saved to the iPhone album by default.  This setting allows you to disable that behavior.

Version 1.03 - January 30, 2009

  • Ensure that location is fuzzed as requested in ALL cases
  • Remove dependence on ping.fm icon hosting
  • Handle lack of service icons gracefully

Version 1.02 - January 27, 2009

Minor UI and functionality tweaks and one bugfix.

  • Sort triggers and services list
  • Shorten incoming URLs from pingle:XXX bookmarklet launches using Is.Gd
  • Fuzz location according to configuration in all cases
  • Don’t start location updates until user has passed authentication / pingfm is ready
  • When ‘retweeting’, make sure that post status is set to draft

  • Psychedelic new icon
  • Cleaned up some UI quirks W/R/T orientation changes
  • MobileSafari Bookmarklet support.  Handles URLs of the form pingle:URL and pingfm:URL exactly like Tweetie does (see http://www.atebits.com/software/tweetie/bookmarklet/, but use “pingle:” instead of “tweetie:”)
  • Show lat/long coordinates on map view and in ping history detail
  • Cleaned up Pingle’s settings.app presentation a bit
  • Increased requested GPS accuracy to “best”
  • After taking/selecting a photo, perform the resizing and compression in the background so you can continue editing the post
