Pingle v1.1 beta1 Available to Testers

If you helped beta test the v1.0 release of Pingle, you can now download the first v1.1 beta release of Pingle here: Pingle-1.1beta1.zip if you’re on Windows, and Pingle-1.1beta1.dmg for Mac users.

The most significant changes were to the image attachment features, which now provide significantly greater control and picture quality.  If you’re a frequent EDGE user, you should be able to minimize the time it takes to upload pictures, and get feedback on progress.

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the App Store

Apple sent me a very thoughtful letter last night requesting that I change Pingle to act a little more user-friendly in the absence of a network connection, in accordance with the sacred dictums of the Human Interface Guidelines.

I raged, raged against the dying of the light for a bit then decided they were right.  So I’ll be adding that to version 1.04, along with a couple of other tweaks, and send it on its merry way back to Apple by Sunday night.  If they keep to the same turnaround time and there aren’t any other major issues, we could be in the app store as early as Friday.

If there’s anything you really need or want to see, write it up over at our Get Satisfaction feature request page.
